چکیده

Intra-articular migration is a known complication of poorly placed metallic suture anchors in rotator cuff repair and labral reconstruction. We report a case of intra-articular migration of a metallic suture anchor seven years after open labral reconstruction. Despite the fact that the patient remained asymptomatic for seven years, presence of an extra-osseous anchor was already noted postoperatively. In an era where the use of suture anchors has become common practice, surgeons should always be aware of possible anchor migration, especially when patients complain of sudden sharp pain, persistent pain, a catching sensation and loss of mobility.

Infected shoulder joint with loose Suture Anchor in the joint after Bankart’s Repair- A Case Report

INTRODUCTION The glenoid labrum is frequently torn in traumatic glenohumeral dislocation; arthroscopic repair is the standard method of treatment. The complications associated with this repair are pulling out of metal suture anchors, chondrolysis and joint infection. The infection of joint after arthroscopy is less than 1%. Staphylococcus is most common organism and rarely followed by Pseudomon...

The “Purse String” Procedure for Recurrent Anterior Glenohumeral Instability: A Simple Technique to Achieve Bankart Repair, Capsular Shift, and a Good Labral Bumper

Failure of arthroscopic techniques in cases of recurrent anterior glenohumeral instability may result from inadequate treatment of capsular injury. The use of few anchors has been cited as a cause of failure in arthroscopic stabilization techniques. This applies to the use of the suture anchors as spot-welding points in conventional techniques. It has been shown that horizontal mattress suture ...

The "bony Bankart bridge" procedure: a new arthroscopic technique for reduction and internal fixation of a bony Bankart lesion.

Arthroscopic treatment of bony Bankart lesions can be challenging. We present a new easy and reproducible technique for arthroscopic reduction and suture anchor fixation of bony Bankart fragments. A suture anchor is placed medially to the fracture on the glenoid neck, and its sutures are passed around the bony fragment through the soft tissue including the inferior glenohumeral ligament complex...

Pullout strength of knotless suture anchors.

PURPOSE Suture anchors are used consistently for repairs of soft tissues, especially around the glenohumeral joint. These anchors can be used either arthroscopically or in an open procedure to anatomically restore the labrum and capsular tissues to the glenoid after avulsion injuries (Bankart lesion). The purpose of this study was to analyze the pullout strength of a new knotless suture anchor ...

Bioabsorbable Suture Anchor Migration to the Acromioclavicular Joint: How Far Can These Implants Go?

Few complications regarding the use of bioabsorbable suture anchors in the shoulder have been reported. What motivated this case report was the unusual location of the anchor, found in the acromioclavicular joint which, to our knowledge, has never been reported so far. A 53-year old male with previous rotator cuff (RC) repair using bioabsorbable suture anchors presented with pain and weakness a...
